Artist Notes 2/26/2019: Happy Monday you guys! 😀

Boy did it take me a loooong time to get the hang of drawing Pal moving! I mean, her slow/small movements that we’ve seen so far are one thing… but working on this page (and the next few) I’ve felt like I was designing her all over again, just from having to figure out how she moves. :S Weirdly, what ended up helping me the most in the end was looking at and practicing gesture drawings of humans and giving myself some sort of context for how she’s moving, then distort it from there. …watching videos of octopuses pulling themselves across land was helpful too, though I didn’t want to make her look tooo octopus-ie. But yeah. What do you guys think? :3

Also, I’m happy to say I’m finally getting a bit ahead, while I’m never really where I want to be, I actually have the next four pages pretty far along and that’s a nice feeling for once! :))) Hasn’t stopped me from coloring this one until the wee hours, but there was a lot of tweaking at the end, I’ve never done this sort of pencil hatching in the backgrounds of pages before and I kept changing it and moving it around. >.>; But it like it! I got the idea from manga, but I wanted it to look more rough and almost creepy, but I think something my background sometimes lack is texture and contrast, and I felt this actually helped that, so you’ll probably be seeing more of it. ^ ^
