Artist Notes 1/29/2018: Happy Monday guys! 

I tried to do the paint-the-background-first thing again, and still I gotta say… so far so good? Not that there’s much in the way of backgrounds this page.

So this is a silly thing, and I like the way Sonny and Betha look but sometimes I reeeeally wish they had pupils! XD It’s something I’m not always thinking about when I’m planning a page either, and this time I got particularly far with it before realizing the error of my ways. Originally, the bottom panel of this page they were still looking at each other, and–if they had normal eyes–would have had very small pupils looking Guy’s direction, without either of them having to turn their head. I was practically onto coloring before I realized where I was picturing them looking wasn’t going to read at all! XD I’m still happy with how the pages looks but I felt silly about it. It’s a relief to have some characters now that express the direction they’re looking much more clearly. XD
